So we are down to the last eight!

The first quarter final sees the Czech Republic vs. Portugal. Both sides ended the group stage with two wins and will be full of confidence going into this one. No doubt Ronaldo's form will have the Czechs worried, and rightly so. They have no one who can match him or even mark him. For the Czechs to progress Petr Cech is going to have to have a blinder between the sticks.

For me Portugal will have to much for the Czechs. Not only do I think they will struggle to contain Ronaldo but they also have very little going forward that will trouble Pepe and Alves. Baros just does not cut it any more. Portugal's pace and strength on the break is something I can't see the Czechs having an answer for.

I am predicting a 2-0 win here with Portugal looking really dangerous mainly due the imperious form of one Cristiano Ronaldo!

On another matter Uefa continue to dish out fines for various offences committed by players and team alike. Bendtner was fined 80k for wearing branded underwear and Croatia fined 60k for racist chanting!. Clearly they see racism as the paramount issue at the moment. You do have to wonder what these guys actually get paid for and what logic they use to come to their decisions. Its ludacrisin my view and they just continue to embarrass themselves.

 Till next time...
